Sunday Services

Visitors and newcomers are always warmly welcomed. We alternate 8.00am and 9.30am services with St Andrew’s, Nether Wallop.  The normal pattern is shown below and the specific calendar may be found by clicking on February Church Services. or on March_Church services. On January 12th we began a series on the life of Abraham from the book of Genesis; for more details click on A series on Genesis

First Sunday of the month

Family Worship at 9.30am, a time for the whole family and church community to come for worship, teaching and fellowship. In the winter months this is being held in the church hall. The style of worship combines the contemporary with the traditional; modern hymns are often accompanied by guitar and keyboard. Refreshments are provided after the service. There is a said service of Holy Communion (BCP) at 8.00am at St Andrew’s Nether Wallop.

Second and fourth Sundays of the month at 8.00am

There are contemplative, said services, following the Book of Common Prayer. They include a short sermon based on the published readings. There is a 9.30am service at St Andrew’s Nether Wallop on these days (2nd Sunday Communion, 4th Sunday Family Worship): see  March 22nd is Mothering Sunday and there will be a Family Service at St Peter’s (9.30am) as well as at St Andrew’s (11.00am).

Second Sundays at 4.00pm

Until recently there has been an informal meeting (“Tea Time Praise”) in the church hall, with songs, testimonies and prayer, but this is in abeyance for the time being.

Third Sunday of the month

Family Communion at 9.30am. The service follows the Common Worship liturgy with an original Gloria and Sanctus by a local composer. Hymns are accompanied on organ or piano. Refreshments are provided afterwards. There is normally a Sunday School (“Impress”) in the Church Hall from 9.25am for children in KS1/2 and the children are brought into the church for the Communion.

Fifth Sunday of a month

A joint Team Communion service is held. The next one will be at 11.00am on March 29th at St Leonard’s Grateley with a guest speaker and a bring-and-share lunch in the Grateley Village Hall afterwards.  Click here for details and for news of a special weekend on May 30/31 (Pentecost).
