  • Andover Foodbank: www.andover.foodbank.org.uk  We say a big thank you to everyone who has supported us during the past year.  We are immensely grateful for your continued generosity. This summer is likely to be a difficult one for many with the impact of the cost of living crisis. Children living in financially insecure households are at risk of social isolation and loneliness during the long holiday, so we hope to be able to provide a bag of treats to help with picnics, sleepovers or friends for tea. We should be very grateful if you could donate any of the following items: tinned hot dogs, tomato ketchup, icepops, cake mixes, spaghetti hoops, baked beans, tinned ham/chicken, chocolate biscuits (individually wrapped e.g. kitkats or penguins), tube crisps or 6 packs, jelly and jam/peanut butter/marmite for sandwiches. We’d also like to be able to offer families who need food boxes during the holidays an extra activity for their children, so we are collecting activity/colouring books or comics for children aged 3-11.

Forthcoming events

The next service at St Peter’s will not be until September 4th, as on August 21st there will be a Team Communion at Grateley at 10.00am, when Bishop Elisha Tendwa from Tanzania will be visiting us: click here for a photograph and more information. On the Sunday Services page you will find details of all the services in our other parishes until September 4th.

Our thanks to all who took part in any way in the Village fête on July 16th. We are delighted to report that just over £4,500 was raised, to be divided equally between the Wallops School, the Wallops Pre-School, the Village Shop and St Peter’s Church

Latest messages from the Clergy

A prayer for peace in Ukraine and in the world:
Lord of lords and Prince of peace, we cry out to You to restrain the forces of evil and to give wisdom beyond human wisdom to peacemakers who seek an equitable and less violent way. We pray for the church in Ukraine that Your people may be strengthened in their faith to trust You each day. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen

Please also pray for us as we continue to look for a new Priest-in-Charge of our six parishes.

For a message of hope and encouragement from Archbishop Justin or Archbishop Stephen and a choice of hymns, reflections and other things, telephone free of charge 0800 804 8044.
